Work location: Earnings tax applies to wages for work performed within city limits. Employers must withhold.

Voter reauthorization: Missouri law requires voters to reauthorize the earnings tax every 5 years.

Both residents and non-residents: Tax applies to all who work in the city, regardless of residence.

Business profits: Both cities also tax business net profits at 1%.
